Free WWE 2K26 ends tonight on Xbox, Steam's Necesse weekend and PS Plus July games close tomorrow

Xbox's free WWE 2K26 and Wildgate weekend ends tonight at midnight Pacific, Steam's four-game free weekend (led by 94%-positive Necesse) closes tomorrow morning, PS Plus's July trio wraps tomorrow, Steam's Cyberpunk Fest opens tomorrow at 10am Pacific, Epic's OTXO and Sol Cesto stay free through Thursday, and the From Poland With Love sale runs to August 10.

Xbox Free Play Days: WWE 2K26 and Wildgate end tonight, no Game Pass needed

This weekend's Xbox Free Play Days round closes tonight, Sunday August 2 at 11:59pm PT, timed to SummerSlam weekend. Two of the three are free for all Xbox members with no Game Pass required:

• WWE 2K26 (2K, $69.99, on sale at $34.99). Metacritic 78 from critics, but user reviews sit at 3.5 Generally Unfavorable over the Ringside Pass microtransaction and roster locks. 400+ Superstars, CM Punk Showcase. Also free on Steam this weekend (see below).
• Wildgate (Dreamhaven, $29.99). Metacritic 72 Mixed, a PvPvE spaceship shooter billed as "Sea of Thieves in space" that shines with a crew and runs shallow solo.
• Polterguys: Possession Party ($4.99, 8-player ghost-possession party brawler) is the one Game Pass-required title (Ultimate/Premium/Essential), thin reviews with no Metacritic.

For Honor (Ubisoft 2017 melee, Metacritic 78) is the carryover from last week's round, still free for all Xbox members with no Game Pass through Tuesday August 4. No new Free Play Days round will post today (they land Thursdays); watch for the next one around August 6.

Steam free weekend: four games free to play through tomorrow morning

Steam's current free weekend is in its final 24 hours, closing Monday August 3 at 10am PT (1pm ET). These are free to play, not keep: you lose access when the timer expires, though each game's sale price lingers a few days longer.

• Necesse ($14.99, 94% Very Positive from ~12,000 reviews) is the standout, a top-down survival RPG that blends Terraria and RimWorld with up to 8-player co-op. 50% off at $7.49 through August 13.
• Tower Dominion ($17.49, 86% Very Positive from ~2,600 reviews), a roguelike tower defense across 30 heroes. 40% off at $10.49 through August 9.
• WWE 2K26 ($69.99, 54% Mixed from ~1,500 reviews), the same wrestling game free on Xbox tonight. 50% off at $34.99 through August 3, requires a 2K account and internet.
• Reaper Actual ($19.99, 44% Mixed from ~100 reviews), an extraction looter shooter that launched May 29. 20% off at $15.99 through August 4. The easy skip of the four.

PS Plus: July trio's last day is tomorrow, August lineup lands Tuesday

Sony's July Essential games (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For the King II, CrossCode) remain claimable for all PS Plus tiers through Monday August 3, after which they rotate out.

The August trio goes live Tuesday August 4 and stays claimable through August 31:

• Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition (PS5/PS4, Metacritic 76). Techland's 2022 zombie parkour follow-up, with the Reloaded upgrade bundling the Firearms Update and Bloody Ties DLC. 1-4 player co-op.
• Big Walk (PS5, day-one on PS Plus). From House House, the team behind Untitled Goose Game, a co-op game built around talking to your friends through a puzzle-filled world. No critic consensus yet as it launches August 4.
• Signalis (PS4, Metacritic 81). rose-engine's retro survival horror that Push Square called "riveting," drenched in melancholic mystery and surreal retrotech dread.

Steam Cyberpunk Fest opens tomorrow at 10am Pacific

The next Steam storefront event, Cyberpunk Fest, runs Monday August 3 through Monday August 10, opening and closing at 10am PT. Valve has already posted an official trailer, and the genre umbrella stretches from booze-em-ups to futuristic city building to hunting serial killers in neon futures, with Cyberpunk 2077, Mirror's Edge, and Blade Runner Enhanced Edition the kind of titles it gathers.

Fest discounts and demos go live at 10am tomorrow, so prices are not verifiable before launch. Browse the category hub once it opens rather than only your wishlist. After August 10 the deals vanish. The next fests after this are Pins & Pegs (August 17-20) and PvE Survival Crafting (August 31 to September 7), with no seasonal sale until the Autumn Sale October 1-8.

Epic: OTXO and Sol Cesto free to keep through Thursday

Epic's current free pair remains claimable through Thursday August 6 at 8am PT:

• OTXO ($14.99, Metacritic 81), a black-and-white top-down action roguelite in the Hotline Miami mold with slow-motion and over 100 abilities, Very Positive across 1,800+ Steam reviews.
• Sol Cesto ($13.99), a tactical roguelite built around a 4x4 grid row-pick mechanic with a thin critic pool but a strong Polygon impression that called it one of 2026's best roguelikes.

The next pair, already revealed, lands August 6: Beacon Pines ($19.99, Metacritic 84, OpenCritic 86%, Steam Overwhelmingly Positive, a narrative adventure where you play as both reader and protagonist of a mysterious book) and We Were Here Together ($12.99, a co-op puzzle adventure set in Antarctica's Castle Rock, returning from a December 2025 giveaway).

From Poland With Love sale runs to August 10

Steam's From Poland With Love publisher sale (Untold Tales, 200+ games from 40+ Polish developers, up to 90% off) runs through August 10, giving you the better part of a week yet. Verified standouts:
